Job Description
Talley Broadcasting radio stations WSMI and WAOX has an immediate opening for an Advertising Sales Person working from our Litchfield Illinoisoffice. This position is full time MondayFriday 8 AM to 5 PM or as needed for station remote broadcasts or events.
Do you have a desire to help small businesses and enjoy a small town lifestyle Our Advertising Sales staff members work with local business people to help them grow and prosper by developing campaigns and ads that are aired on our stations. Talley Broadcasting is a secondgeneration family operation serving Macoupin and Montgomery counties since 1950.
As an Account Executive at Talley Broadcasting you will:
Receive broadcast advertising sales education and support from a nationally recognized broadcast sales consultant.
Call on prospects and present various programs and concepts.
Persuade prospects to purchase radio time and present company initiatives that will draw customers to their businesses.
Achieve sales performance goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and provide quality customer service.
Communicate with other departments to assure of client agreements.
Collect timely payments from customers.
Attend sales meetings training sessions and radio station sponsored customer events.
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma; one year related experience and/or training.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts for customer purchase transactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
Computer literate; familiar with Microsoft Office (Word Power Point Excel)
Ability to travel to local customer locations with reliable transportation.
Valid drivers license and state mandated automobile insurance.
Live within a 25mile radius of the stations.
A degree in radio broadcasting or sales/marketing not required would be a plus.
Previous sales or marketing experience not required would be a plus.
Compensation:
Compensation is commission based on advertising receipts.
Six holidays are observed per year with 10 vacation days after 1 year of employment and up to 4 sick days per year.
