Job Description

JOB GOAL:

The Elementary Math Coordinator will provide leadership in the development implementation and evaluation of math curriculum and instructional practices for K8 schools with a focus on elementary grades. This role is responsible for supporting district math priorities as well as network leaders and teachers ensuring alignment with state and national standards and fostering instructional strategies that enhance student learning and engagement. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with educators administrators and stakeholders to improve math outcomes and instruction across the district.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary Range:123 $60552 $month 220 days) position on the Administrator Salary Schedule.NOTE:Precise placement on the salary range will be based on experience and education.FLSA: Exempt.

Work Days/Work Hours: 5 days/8 hours per day

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A masters degree and certification in the respective content area (i.e. elementary education math STEM etc.
  2. A Masters Degree or higher with a Curriculum Supervisor District Level or Building Level Certification issued by the Arkansas Department of Education is preferred
  3. A valid Arkansas educator license for the assigned content area/grade level is required
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in K8 teaching (including elementary grades) instructional coaching or curriculum leadership with a focus on math and/or STEM
  5. Deep knowledge of numeracy development math interventions best practices in education and effective pedagogical approaches for the discipline
  6. Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with teachers administrators and stakeholders
  7. Understand student developmentwhat they know and are able to do within the discipline as well as a commitment to culturally responsive practices
  8. Ability to support the preparation of instruction that sets high expectations for every student includes sound assessment methods and expertly structured lessons to support all students engagement with content
  9. Experience designing and delivering professional development and coaching for educators including evidence of positive feedback from participants
  10. Proficiency in analyzing student performance data and using it to inform instructional practices.
  11. Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
  12. Familiarity with current education (local state and federal) laws/policies research and trends in math and STEM instruction.

  6. Relate student and adult learning to previous learning or realworld experience.
  7. Dedicated to ongoing growth and continuous learning; active in professional organizations in the district and beyond.
  8. Displays leadership that first considers students then staff.
  9. Design coordinate and facilitate professional learning coaching and resources to support leaders and teachers in best practices for elementary math and STEM instruction.
  10. Collaborate with school leaders and instructional coaches to analyze student performance data and adjust instructional strategies to support all learners.
  11. Support the integration of culturally responsive teaching practices and diverse perspectives within math and STEM curriculum.
  12. Evaluate and recommend instructional materials textbooks and resources that enhance student learning and align with district goals.
  13. Assist in the development of assessments and assessment strategy to measure student progress.
  14. Stay informed about research trends and best practices in math/STEM education ensuring continuous improvement in curriculum and instruction.
  15. Serve as a resource and liaison between district administration teachers parents and the community on matters related to math/STEM.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty 20 or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by Human Resources Personnel.
