On Novemberwas launched in Canada as a new national threedigit number for suicide prevention and emotional distress. In 2022 CAMH was announced as the lead for the coordination and administration of 988 and has acted in this capacity to lead and coordinate the implementation of 988 and manage the operations and postlaunch activities. As of November 2023 this groundbreaking new service is available 24/7/365 in English and French and accessible to everyone from coast to coast to coast. CAMH is working closely with the federal government and key partners from different groups and communities provinces territories and building on our work on Talk Suicide Canada to deliver this high quality evidencebased equitable suicide prevention service to Canada.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a fulltime temporary 15 months) Research Manager to support 988: Suicide Crisis Helpline and a range of interrelated research and evaluation projects in the area of suicide prevention and virtual care. The research and evaluation team employs a range of methodologies from qualitative to quantitative and mixedmethods including narrative and artsbased methods. We value engaging with people with lived experience and families/friends/caregivers patientengaged research and research that advances equity and inclusion. Research and evaluation projects relating to 988: Suicide Crisis Helpline are the cornerstone of this portfolio.

Research and evaluation dimensions of 988: Suicide Crisis Helpline include evaluating user experience the intervention and the implementation of 988. Our projects include working to establish best practices in intervention evaluate opportunities for improving equity of services exploring the needs and preferences of diverse populations and exploring relevant intersections with digital health and AI. In all our work we seek to understand and engage the perspectives of people with lived and living experiences. The Research Manager will work closely with all 988 work streams to oversee not only related evaluation and knowledge translation projects but also facilitate lived experience engagement activities.

The Research Manager will have functional reporting to the Principal Investigator/Chief Medical Officer of 988: Suicide Crisis Helpline and will work in collaboration with the scientific and research staff to oversee and support the research and evaluation portfolio. The Research Manager will work closely with the Director: 988 Operations and the 988: Suicide Crisis Helpline and Virtual Mental Health teams to ensure high quality and of projects in accordance with project deliverables. The successful candidate will have direct reporting to the Director Clinical Research to ensure alignment to best practices in research administration and support.

The manager will oversee research and evaluation projects including:

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will work with the Research Operations Services and Support Office to ensure alignment of research operations meet and maintain institutional regulatory standards and department requirements including Legal Information and Privacy Office Research Ethics Board Finance People and Experience Quality Assurance.

As a key member of the team the successful incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively on projects with cross functional teams. The incumbent will champion and lead initiatives that support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable policies procedures and legislation. This position is located at 60 White Squirrel Way with travel between sites as necessary.

The successful candidate will have a Masters Degree in a related field (e.g. psychology neuroscience Health Sciences Health Administration Social Work public health) at least 3 years of relevant researchexperience is required and 3 years of progressive research leadership experience. Previous research or service with individuals and/or families with mental health is considered an asset. In addition the successful candidate will possess the following skills:
