Job Description
Are you a detailoriented and motivated accounting professional looking to make a significant impact Canfor is currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Project Accountant. Reporting to our Senior Accountant Capital this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our management team providing crucial financial insights and support to drive our projects forward.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Manage and track costs associated with scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
- Prepare and process various monthend tasks related to shutdowns and fixed assets.
- Reconcile GL accounts for shutdowns and fixed assets.
- Complete all fixed assets transactions including disposals additions and transfers.
- Administer user accounts in the purchasing and asset management system (Synergen).
- Ensure compliance with CPL policy and accounting standards (IFRS).
- Provide backup and support to the Senior Accountant Capital.
- Occasionally travel between the three Prince George operations.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned.
What Were Looking For:
- A Diploma in Accounting and Business Admin or equivalent work experience. Candidates pursuing a CPA designation would be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- A valid drivers license and personal vehicle.

The salary range for this position is: $80000.00$100000.00
