Description
Since 1954 the Central California Blood Center (CCBC) has been the leading source of blood products for the Central Valley. Serving a population of over 1.5 million people CCBC works with thousands of generous blood donors and local organizations to collect blood throughout the Central Valley and provide those vital blood products to our network of 30 hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout Fresno Madera Tulare Kings and Mariposa Counties. FLSA Status: Fulltime nonexempt (hourly)
Hours per week: Must have the availability to be scheduled up to 40 hours per week (Sunday Saturday) including some holidays.
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr $21.50/hr
Reports to: Donor Services Operations Manager
Location: Mobiles and Fixed Site locations
Job Summary:
This position requires driving a company bus (bloodmobile and other vehicles) to blood drives. The majority of time for the position will be spent as a registrar during blood drives. Loading and unloading of buses as well as event setup and teardown. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive donor experience.
Essential Job Duties:
Completion of pre and post inspection checklists for bus on day of use including safety checks.
Load and unload all necessary supplies for blood drive. Restock all registration supplies at end of drive.
Drive all mobile buses and fleet vehicles to designated locations for mobile drives safely and ensure proper set up of blood mobiles. Setup registration desk. Set out blood drive signage/flags Popups and extra chairs.
Greet and register potential donors utilizing a laptop or desktop computer and blood center software.
Remain with the bus during blood drive in order to respond to those situations involving the bus. Refuel vehicles as needed.
Provide and promote a positive attitude emphasizing teamwork and good customer service both internally and externally. Provide an excellent and positive donor experience.
Be flexible in schedule of hours worked including overtime scheduled weekends holidays and rotating shifts when necessary.
Must consistently demonstrate CCBCs organizational CARE (Communication Accountability Respect and Engagement) values.
Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.
Responsible for driving a company vehicle or personal vehicle to field or mobile drives as well as reassignment from one CCBC location to another to meet operational needs.
Must comply with CCBC policies and procedures.

NonEssential Job Duties:
Wrap handsqueezed objects to be used by Donors. Set out blood pressure cuffs for
DSS staff and doublebag trash containers.
Clean up trash and restock canteen during drive.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Current Class B drivers license including Air Brakes.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid drivers license.
Must have a driving history with no major violations in the last five years.
Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam every 2 years
Basic computer skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to push pull and lift over 25 lbs.
Must be able to frequently go up and down stairs as well as sit stand and walk for extended periods of time.
