As the Construction Project Manager youll lead projects related to remodels new stores relocations expansions downsizes delivery pads retail office spaces emergency stores large facility projects and merchandise driven projects. Youll monitor and maintain project financial reports partner with other departments to cross functionally monitor activities and establish policies and procedures for quality control. In this role you will partner and coordinate with other project team members from real estate store planning design architecture IT asset protection deployment display management and procurement to deliver successful projects to the organization. This role is hybrid which means you will be required to work some days onsite at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other nonBest Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What youll do
Read understand and redline architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
Oversee RFP/bidding process and negotiation construction vendor and consultant contracts. Execute contracts including negotiating terms and holding workers accountable
Recognize and identify project variances and present clear concise and complete recommendations to department leadership. Maintain and update accurate forecast budgets project records and schedules for assigned projects
Provide necessary input in approving construction documents and assist team in resolving preliminary design issues and site constraints. Develop the scope of work project schedule and budgets
Travel to job sites as required for scope surveys bid walks construction start kickoff progress visits job meetings and punch list walks
Complete closeout process including inspections passed certificate of occupancy to run our business punch list followup sworn construction statements receipt of lien waivers and warranty information
Basic qualifications
5 years of construction project management experience
5 years of negotiating experience
3 years of management responsibility with people or resources
Excellent organizational skills and communication skills
Strong computer skills including Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook and Teams
Preferred qualifications
Bachelors degree in architecture construction management or engineering
BlueBeam and CAD experience
