School Year: 202526Position: SpeechLanguage PathologistCampus: United Schools Columbus 4 campuses)Grade(s): Kindergarten 8th GradeReports to: Director of Student Support Services United Schools (United) is a nonprofit organization in Columbus Ohio. After founding its first school in 2008 it has worked together with incredible leaders to open three more schools in the span of ten years. Each United campus is an open enrollment public charter school that works diligently to close the opportunity gap in Columbus. United currently operates two highperforming elementary schools (K5 and two highperforming middle schools 68 that serve more than 800 students. We strive to provide students with a rigorous academic experience in a joyful learning environment and we work hard to ensure that students of all levels grow and succeed by focusing on intentional student support and continual improvement. Position DescriptionThe SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) role provides an opportunity for a talented educator to work with students with speech and language needs. The SLP will provide direct services to students with speech and language goals in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) across four United campuses. They will also consult with general education teachers evaluate students who may be entering special education serve on the IEP team for students with speech and language goals and complete required special education paperwork such as progress reports. Team members maintain a sense of calm while addressing a number of priorities.Qualifications: Holds a Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited university. Holds a valid Professional Pupil Services License as a School SpeechLanguage Pathologist from the State Board of Education in Ohio. Holds a valid SpeechLanguage Pathologist license from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board. Has at least two years of successful SLP experience in an urban school (preferred).Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity in working with children with a range of speech and language disorders including articulation disorders language delays and social communication challenges. Experience conducting ETR evaluations and writing IEP goals as well as progress monitoring. Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders. Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor student progress. Is committed to using datadriven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes. Is relentless in writing refining and internalizing curriculum lessons and assessments. Is open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members. Communicates effectively with students families and colleagues. Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities.Terms of Employment Although this position will begin July 28 2025 applications will be considered immediately. This is a fulltime position. Report times are typically Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. although some jobrelated tasks can be expected outside of these hours. Salary: The starting salary for a new SpeechLanguage Pathologist with a Masters degree is $51000. The starting salary for other applicants will depend on professional experience and education level.
