The Wheeler School a coed N12 independent day school with city and farm campuses serving approximately 800 students in the Greater Providence and Greater Boston areas is seeking a fulltime Upper School Math Teacher beginning in theschool year. Ideal candidates for faculty and staff positions at Wheeler are people with a sense of humor warmth and humility. They are excellent communicators with empathy for others and an ability to listen and respond with good intuition and with the help of colleagues. In the end they love to spend their days with young people and enjoy all that the Wheeler community creative energetic dynamic and diverse has to offer.We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in mathematics (a degree in math is preferred) a deep commitment to the experience of the student an interest in innovation and inquiry based learning an ability to teach a range of learners and strong collaborative skills. The ideal candidate would be comfortable teaching a range of classes up to and including BC Calculus with the possibility of teaching collegelevel courses in Multivariable Calculus Linear Algebra and/or Discrete Math. As a teacher at Wheeler you will become part of a dynamic and passionate faculty and work with talented and engaged students every day. The position also involves serving as an advisor to upper schoolers including related advising responsibilities.
