Job Description
WellStone is North Alabamas most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13000 persons a year throughout Northern Alabama with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a nonprofit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life from children to older adults.
Our Childrens Outpatient Therapist will work offsite with our younger patients their families and therapeutic team to support the clients growth. This position is a day shift role working Monday through Friday full time. We have 3 positions open.
What Were Looking For:
- Masters Degree in social services with practicum required
- License (LPC LICSW LMFT) preferred
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Prefer at least one year working with serious emotionally disturbed (SED) children
- Computer Literacy
What Youll Be Doing:
- Conduct individual group and/or family therapy to child adolescent population ages three to eighteen
- Perform initial assessments intakes and prepare documentation of such for client Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Prepare with client a treatment plan to include goals
- Obtain certification in the CANS System
- Conduct CANS Assessments
- Document progress of client to goals as outlined in the Treatment plan
- Present cases to psychiatrists regarding clients medicine
- Work closely with Case Manager & guardians regarding clients needs
- Provide Crisis Intervention as needed
- Participate in various meetings to include departmental divisional or other meetings as required by the Director Chief Clinical Officer or Chief Executive Officer.
- Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct followup with clients
- Maintain educational requirements regarding licensure Department of Mental Health State Standards
- May perform outreach in the school system
