Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Cape Town. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects analyzing plans and specifications and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine accurate cost estimates
Prepare and submit detailed bids and proposals for construction projects
Collaborate with project managers clients and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates
Review and assess project scope schedules and materials requirements
Identify potential costsaving opportunities and value engineering options
Track and analyze project costs and provide regular updates to project teams
Review and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals
Maintain accurate records of estimates bids and project documentation
Keep abreast of industry trends materials costs and labor rates to ensure competitive pricing
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role
Bachelors degree in construction management engineering or related field
Strong understanding of construction methods materials and building codes
Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detailoriented and highly organized
Knowledge of local building regulations and codes in Cape Town
Valid drivers license
