Job Description
This position is a longterm guest teaching position. The assignment may require completion of the ESS Midwest (formerly PCMI) / Willsub application. More information will be provided upon placement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eligible for a Michigan daily substitute permit through the Michigan Department of Education minimum of 60 credit hours at a regionally accreditedcollege/university); Bachelors Degree in Education preferred.

LongTerm Guest Teacher General Summary:
The Physical Education Teacher creates a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. He/she establishes effective rapport with pupils in order to motivate pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for physical education in accordance with each pupils ability. The Physical Education Teacher establishes good relationships with parents and other staff members. The Physical Education Teacher reports to the building principal.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists classroom teachers and/or building Principal
- Models the best use of instructional practices for student learning and the use of data to inform instructional decisions
- Uses technology tools to enhance instruction and student learning
- Manages the use of all aspects of the use of technology tools
- Assists the Principal with the creation and communication of procedures for technology use as needed
- Communicates weekly with classroom teachers regarding student progress and determine adjustments in instructional practices as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Preferred major or minor in Physical Education
- Demonstrated use of best practices beliefs and results for learning for all
- Demonstrated effective use of technology in instructional settings
- Strong and effective communication skills with students and adults individually as well as in small or large groups
- Ability to problemsolve and think futuristically
- Demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn
Full Year Guest Teacher General Summary:
The Full Year Guest Teacher will work atSilver Lake Elementary School for the2024/25 school year in daytoday assignments. The Full Year Guest Teacher will report every instructional day toSilver Lake Elementary School. Daily positions will be prearranged via the WillSub system. In the event that specific coverage in not needed the Full Year Guest Teacher will report to the building administrator for instruction on where support is needed within the building. Assignments may include special education aide 1:1 or float) assignments when necessary.
Minimum of 60 credit hours from a college/university/community college required for a daytoday substitute permit through the Michigan Department of Education.
