Job Description

Join a transdisciplinary team of experts making a difference in the lives of young children. As a Developmental Specialist in KennedyDonovan Centers Early Intervention Program you will be responsible for individualized service plans to help children improve developmental skills in partnership with their families. By providing homebased programming you can help parents feel confident in supporting their childs growth long after your visit is over. With KDC Early Intervention youll work in a supportive environment with a qualified team of social workers nurses speech therapists occupational therapists and physical therapists who are always willing to answer specific questions or collaborate for a cotreatment. You will also have the flexibility to schedule your home visits and as a part of a larger nonprofit you will benefit from resources and professional development to grow your career. Responsibilities:Collaborate as a transdisciplinary team member for program planning and delivery of services including cotreatments as well as attending in service training team meetings professional development and group and individual supervisionParticipate in intake of new client families as well as in initial assessments and annual evaluations of children and families to contribute to the development of an IFSPProvide case management and referral services to assigned caseload including participation in interagency case conferencesProvide home visits to assigned caseload for purposes of providing developmental stimulation parent training and support and implementing IFSPsParticipate in parent and child and/or child groupsComplete all necessary paperwork including all client records narrative reports of assessments progress reports IFSPs and discharge summariesMaintain appropriate communication with physicians clinics and community agencies participating each childs careMaintain compliance with all Kennedy Donovan Center policies safety and medical standards procedures EEC DPH regulations and requirementsRequired SkillsFrequent movement within groups including but not limited to kneeling bending lifting pushing and pulling.Excellent organization interpersonal and communication skillsAble to meet required competency level in Microsoft Office SoftwareRequired ExperienceCEIS or 18 months experience in Early InterventionBachelors Degree required: Early Childhood Education Special Education Child Life Communication Disorders Psychology or Social WorkTranscripts of degree work or subsequent transcripts must reflect degree conferred and successful completion of at least 4 approved 3credit courses that focus on infants toddlers and/or families as defined in Early Intervention Operational Standards300 hours of experience with young children requiredApply via email on our website www.kdc/careers
