Collins Aerospaces Vision Systems business located in Wilsonville OR specializes in HeadUp Guidance Systems (HGS) Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) and Remote Vision Systems (RVS) for both commercial and military platforms. Our product portfolio also includes advanced HelmetMounted Display (HMD) technologies for both current and future fighter jets such as the renowned F35 HMD and the nextgeneration ZeroG HMD currently under development in NPI. Whether operating in low visibility at night or in adverse weather conditions our HGS Vision Systems provide pilots with unparalleled situational and terrain awareness. Additionally our HMD technology delivers critical information directly on the pilots visor improving situational awareness accelerating response times and reducing workload.

The NPI Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a seasoned professional responsible for leading the design for manufacturing efforts including process development work instruction creation lean manufacturing initiatives and tooling design. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer is instrumental in driving operational excellence by establishing lean efficient and fullrate production capabilities for new designs. A successful Senior Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with production teams and utilize legacy designs to capture the voice of the customer. They will then collaborate with design engineering to implement both design and process improvements driving the evolution of the next generation of product lines. This is a handson role in a dynamic manufacturing environment working closely with specialized technicians to build troubleshoot and enhance cuttingedge technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop production methods by planning the sequence of manufacturing processes creating work instructions specifications and procedures.
  • Design innovative product specific tooling aides and lead build / test equipment selection to meet quality ergonomic and capacity goals.
  • Establish strong relationships with design engineering counterparts to actively drive design and manufacturability improvements throughout the development cycle.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) on development programs identify and troubleshoot design/build failures develop and implement solutions to closure within a project change control board.
  • Own and lead PFMEA activities and support DFMEA Control Plan and other lean manufacturing efforts.
  • Adapt future generations of machines and equipment designs to meet factory and production standards while implementing improvements based on legacy designs.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing cell layouts to ensure the most efficient and productive product flow supporting both people and product movement through the manufacturing cell.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to leverage advanced manufacturing techniques and Industry 4.0 methodologies to enhance performance and drive automation within our factory.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a NPI or development environment.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen permanent resident or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual shortterm and/or longterm incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collectivebargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
