They help students learn English grammar pronunciation and conversational skills. ELD/IHS Teachers are expected to improve the reading writing and speaking skills of the increasing population of global newcomers to Highlands. ELD/IHS Teachers will plan implement monitor and assess a classroom instructional program.(Please read the job description before applying for this position.)Requirements / QualificationsThe position requires the following items to be attached to the application or the application will not be considered:1. Any combination of education and/or experience working in Adult Education related activities or an English as a Second Language setting is preferred; previous industry experience in English as a Second Language is desirable.. Meets the States Basic Skills Requirement established by the CCTC. Worked or volunteered in an educationrelated field (e.g. tutor substitute) for the equivalent of three years preferred. Possess or qualify for an Adult Education Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills teaching credential or a Multiple Subject credential or any Single Subject credential. The ability to communicate with a diverse group of people on a daily basis.
