Job Description Summary
The instructor is responsible for the coordination planning preparation presentation and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day evening or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include facetoface hybrid online and remote. Facetoface and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince Georges Community College campus or at offcampus locations. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development academic advising curriculum design.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A combination of education training credentials and/or experience that meets the needs and requirements of the department Official documentation of credentials and degrees may be requested; degrees are recognized only if earned at an accredited institution. DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Masters degree or terminal degree (e.g. J.D. M.D. M.F.A) required. The Planning for Academic Success course is a onecredit 8week course for new students. The focus of the Planning for Academic Success course is on academic planning and career exploration goal setting time management wellness and strategies for academic success. Instructors will be expected to commit the time and energy necessary to support student success. Instructors are required to: Participate in training and professional development sessions and attend annual Planning for Academic Success Instructor trainings in May August and October. Complete required assessment pieces in a timely fashion. Adhere to common course syllabus and assignments. Submit final grades by the college designated deadline through OwlLink Online. Hold weekly office hours. Prior teaching experience in higher education or high school is highly preferred. Willingness to train and teach in nontraditional formats (online remote hybrid) and settings (offcampus weekends evenings and accelerated). Uphold and follow through on all prescribed elements of Planning for Academic Success curriculum. Follow all guidelines and expectations in accordance with the Planning for Academic Success faculty requirements. Demonstrated interest in collaboration and engagement with diverse students staff faculty and the university community. Demonstrated familiarity with and interest in teaching on a diverse campus embracing interculturalism in education and inclusive pedagogy preferred. Demonstrated capacity and enthusiasm for teaching students in their first year at the community college level. Desire to advance student learning development and success in higher education settings. Experience with Canvas Blackboard and other instructional technology Demonstrated interculturalism in education and inclusive pedagogy (in teaching demonstration and/or experience shown on CV) Demonstrated collaboration with people from diverse cultural backgrounds experiences education levels and degrees of professional training KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES Mastery of course content Ability to provide service to diverse populations using a studentcentered approach Ability to communicate effectively with students faculty and staff Ability to plan deliver and assess effective instruction Ability to teach in face to face remote and online modalities as needed Ability to effectively use instructional technology (Internet instructional software learning management system videoconferencing etc.. Critical thinking organization and conflict management skills Research skills (where appropriate) Time management planning and organizational skills Ability to work as part of a team Problemsolving and analytical ability Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity equity and inclusion
