POSITION SUMMARY

Located near premier attractions like OVO Hydro Hampden Park and the University of Glasgow our hotel offers a vibrant and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Working with a dedicated team of experts you will learn something different every day as you work with new seasonal menus and unique presentations. You hard work pays off when a dish that youve thoughtfully helped to prepare has guests raving and anxious to return.
As a Commis Chefyou will be responsible for:
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
- Cook food and prepare topquality menu items in a timely manner
- Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
- Work as part of a team to prepare food for our restaurant bar/lounge room service and banqueting operations
- Report maintenance issues immediately to appropriate personnel (i.e. management or maintenance).
Who We Are Looking For: We seek an enthusiastic motivated individual with experience in a similar role within the hospitality or travel and tourism industry. The ideal candidate is a team player fast learner adaptable and possesses exceptional attention to detail interpersonal and communication skills. You should be:
- Proactive and reliable
- Responsible and highly motivated
- Skilled in effective communication with a positive outlook
- Flexibility problemsolving skills and multitasking ability
- Previous experience in a similar hospitality setting preferred.
- Professional Cookery Qualification preferred.
