York High School seeks a dynamic and personable Assistant Principal to join our administrative team in providing educational leadership administrative support and daytoday management of our high school. The ideal candidate is a collaborative experienced leader who will foster a positive school climate and improve student outcomes while working closely with faculty staff students parents and the wider community.Key Responsibilities:Student Support: Supervise and manage student discipline attendance and extracurricular activities ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.Staff Supervision: Supervise evaluate and support the professional growth of teachers and staff members to enhance instruction and student achievement.Curriculum and Instruction: Collaborate with staff to develop implement and evaluate curriculum and instructional programs promoting a high standard of teaching and learning. Experience with MTSS structures is preferred.Administrative Tasks: Assist the principal in managing daily operations and scheduling and work with the School Resource Officer to organize practices that ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.School Climate: Cultivate a positive and safe learning environment by promoting equity inclusivity and cultural sensitivity among all stakeholders.Communication: Effectively liaise with parents community members and other stakeholders maintaining open and transparent lines of communication.Leadership: Inspire motivate and empower staff and students promoting a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.Qualifications:Masters degree in Educational Leadership Administration or a related field.Successful record of teaching and leadership experience in a high school setting demonstrating achievement in improving instruction program development staff development and evaluation.Strong understanding of high school students academic social and emotional development.Knowledge of exemplary educational practices in effective teaching and learning.Maine Assistant Building Administrator Certification 045 or ability to obtain certification by the start date.Familiarity with 504 accommodations and compliance requirements.Skills:Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Empathy patience and a commitment to promoting equity and inclusion.Please reach out to Dr. Amanda Suttie with any questions regarding the position.
