The Opportunity:

Red River Coop is recruiting for the position of Pharmacy Student at our Main St. Pharmacy located at 1425 Main St. in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Enter into the pharmacy data base and verify all data on the prescription (patient name and address; physician name and address; date of prescription; drug; directions; quantity; refills; physician signature).
  • Prepare and package a drug for dispensing.
  • Handle patient phone call and inperson inquiries (not requiring Pharmacists involvement).
  • Maintain arrange and order pharmacy supplies.
  • Verify thirdparty coverage information and resolve coverage inquiries.
  • Assist in managing drug inventory (maintain drug order parameters ordering applying orders credits morgue etc.
  • May provide limited counseling and education for prescription and OTC products in accordance with clinical knowledge base under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Provide support to various expanded scope initiatives.

This position is primarily vacation relief and hours may vary 2440 hours per week).

About You:

To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • You are a Pharmacy student currently registered in a PharmD program;
  • Flexible to work various shifts including evenings and weekends;
  • Willing to travel between store locations within the city of Winnipeg.
