Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vocational High School Automotive Technology Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in automotive technology and a commitment to teaching students the skills necessary for successful careers in the automotive industry.Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive automotive technology curriculum that aligns with MA DESE standards integrating both theoretical knowledge and handson experience in automotive repair and maintenance. Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction on automotive systems including engine performance electrical systems brake systems suspension and steering and diagnostics. Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and practical skills providing constructive feedback to support student growth and preparation for industry certifications. Classroom and Lab Management: Establish and maintain a positive safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters collaboration critical thinking and technical skills development. Collaboration: Work closely with other vocational program instructors to integrate automotive technology skills into broader vocational training ensuring students receive a wellrounded education. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices in automotive education. Parent and Community Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and foster relationships with local automotive businesses and organizations to support student learning and job placement. Advisory Role: Act as a mentor or advisor to students assisting them with academic challenges and guiding them in career exploration and job readiness.
