About the Role
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) offers a unique opportunity for a Program Officer to join a dedicated team contributing to the conservation of NSWs significant heritage sites and cultural history.
As a Program Officer you will play a key role in coordinating heritage programs and projects ensuring they are delivered on time within scope and within budget. You will oversee the administration of the Historic Heritage Information Management System and the Section 170 Register ensuring NPWS meets its obligations under the Heritage Act and effectively conserves important heritage places.
In this role you will be responsible for managing budgets coordinating resources preparing reports and maintaining project documentation. You will also collaborate with internal teams contractors and external stakeholders providing expert advice and supporting the delivery of heritage projects.
Regular site visits to national parks and reserves will be part of the role allowing you to provide ontheground guidance to field staff and consultants. Additionally you will contribute to policy development and reporting on heritage management ensuring NPWS has the tools and information needed for informed decisionmaking.

About You
As a Program Officer you are skilled at managing multiple priorities and coordinating resources across a variety of heritage projects. You are highly capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams stakeholders and contractors to ensure successful project delivery within scope on time and within budget.
Ideally you have experience in heritage management or a similar field with a solid understanding of project management principles and practices. Your ability to manage complex data and systems will be essential in supporting effective conservation and project .
You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing you to provide clear guidance expert advice and comprehensive reports. Your experience in stakeholder engagement along with your sound judgment and discretion enables you to effectively navigate competing priorities and drive project outcomes.
