An exciting opportunity has become available within the Biomedical industry for a Project Engineer. The position is based in Cape Town
Duties & Responsibilities
- Along with strong technical skills the position requires the candidate to demonstrate initiative have strong interpersonal skills and time management skills. Successful candidates will be exposed to a wide range of projects and tasks within the Medtech space and the opportunity for excellent professional growth.
- Under the direction of Senior Engineers and/or the Managing Director the Project Engineer will be responsible for setting up systems and assisting on projects from sketch to implementation. The position involves working with a range of clients to develop solutions within the medical device space particular the position involves:
- SolidWorks CAD (proficiency required)
- Medical device R&D experience required. Class III preferred.
- Interfacing with suppliers to effectively and timeously deliver products and services
- Custom mechanical parts stock parts tooling software turnkey solutions etc.
- Interfacing with internal & external team members
- Handson technical work including but not limited to
- Quality control Destructive & nondestructive testing V&V Activities Jig design assembly and operation Implant & catheter design manufacture and assembly 3D printing Polymer fabrication Invitro exvivo & invivo testing
- Project documentation
- Administrative (POs NDAs timesheets)
- R&D note keeping & organization
- Test protocols & reporting
- QC QMS Familiarity with regulatory pathways
- Intellectual property reviews ideation and documentation
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BSc./BEng. Mech/Elec/Mechatronics/Biomed engineering
- Minimum 2 years in medical device R&D
- SolidWorks CAD
- Medical device R&D experience required. Class III preferred.
