Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations
Menaul School founded in 1896 located in picturesque Albuquerque NM seeks an experienced dynamic goal oriented and collaborative Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations (DOA). The DOA will join a motivated leadership team committed to moving Menaul School forward for another 129 years and beyond! The DOA will report to the President and Head of School and will maintain promote and elevate donor engagement and philanthropic giving. The DOA will also oversee all alumni relations and Menaul School fundraising events.
Responsibilities
The Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations will demonstrate the following strengths and duties including but not limited to the following:
An advocate and strong spokesperson for Menaul Schools mission values interests and needs
Ability to work in a team environment with school administrators faculty staff and alumni to effectively build positive working relationships
Understanding of best practices in nonprofit development
Ability to manage staff volunteers and committees
Experience in designing organizing managing and implementing annual fund appeals fundraisers auctions and campaigns
Conduct identification cultivation stewardship and solicitation of major donors in collaboration with the Head of School
Research and cultivate new donor streams
Engage in research of relevant grants grant writing and reporting
Plan and execute all fundraising events school special events relevant to advancement and alumni programs
Serves as primary liaison with the Parents Association and Alumni Board
Report to Board of Trustees and serve on appropriate Board of Trustee committees
Lead the effort to 100 annual fund participation for faculty and staff
Track all donations in database in collaboration with Director of Finance and implement appropriate thank you followup with donors
Manage named scholarship programs and endowments
Track and communicate with appropriate staff regarding scholarship availability
Plan annual recognition of Society members and work to expand membership
Maintain updated contact list for donors and alumni
Requirements
Bachelors degree required appreciation for secondary education
Minimum two years successful experience in fundraising and event management
Prior experience in educational and/or alumni work preferable
Organized flexible individual who is a quick learner with exceptional written and oral communications skills
Ability to manage volunteers/committees
