Job Summary:
As an Intermediate Piping Designerr you will play a crucial role in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) projects. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the VDC and sales team interacting with contractors and clients and leveraging your expertise to produce precise 3D BIM models. This role demands a combination of technical proficiency project management skills and excellent communication to ensure the successful of piping projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Quoting and Estimation:
o Assist in the quoting and estimating process presenting quotes to clients in collaboration with the VDC and sales team.
Client Interaction:
o Liaise with contractors and clients facilitating project review kickoff meetings and other essential job control functions.
3D Modeling:
o Utilize engineering drawings to create accurate and constructible 3D BIM models.
Drawing Preparation:
o Generate pad and equipment layouts piping layouts isometric and spool sheet drawings complete with Bill of Materials (BOMs) using AutoPlant/Revit MEP/AutoCADMEP design modeling software.
Quality Assurance:
o Perform thorough checks on drawings and Bills of Materials under supervision to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Onsite Presence:
o Travel to job sites to obtain precise field measurements interact with customers and collaborate with Victaulic salespeople as necessary.
Project Management:
o Actively participate in managing the project life cycle ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
Problem Resolution:
o Identify and report any jobrelated problems needs or deficiencies to the supervising project coordinator.
Education and Skills:
Minimum of 45 years of drafting/engineering experience considered an asset.
Diploma in Engineering Technology preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
Proficiency in AutoPlant/Revit MEP/AutoCADMEP coupled with intermediate computer skills.
Background in Power or Petro Chem and/or HVAC/Municipal Piping.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent communication interpersonal and customer service skills.
