POSITION: Maintenance/Custodian POSTED: March 19 2025 REPORTS TO: Director of Building Operations APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until vacancy is filled STARTING DATE: Upon completion of hiring process JOB SUMMARY: Tolles Career & Technical Center is seeking a reliable and detailoriented Maintenance/Custodian to perform general maintenance and custodial duties. This position is essential to ensuring a safe clean and efficient environment for our staff students and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Duties: Inspect repair and maintain buildings grounds equipment and furnishings. Install repair and maintain structures windows doors and furniture ensuring compliance with building codes and ADA standards. Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts replacing filters cleaning equipment and adjusting/replacing belts. Monitor regulate and inspect HVAC systems. Perform grounds keeping including mowing and maintaining trees and gardens. Assist with snow removal operations as needed. Transport and deliver materials equipment and supplies. Custodial Duties: Clean assigned areas (e.g. floors windows furniture fixtures). Sanitize and replenish toilet rooms. Vacuum carpets and upholstered furnishings spot clean stains. Replace light bulbs clean glass display cases and light fixtures. Dispose of trash move/arrange furnishings and perform periodic deep cleaning. General Duties: Assist in the receipt and inspection of deliveries. Maintain an orderly and secure work area at the end of each shift. Provide support for events and community activities directing visitors as needed. Uphold security procedures and report any vandalism graffiti or equipment malfunctions. Demonstrate professionalism and contribute to a positive work/learning environment. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma (postsecondary training in a trade is desirable). Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting moving heavy items). Strong mechanical electrical plumbing carpentry and HVAC skills. Ability to work with limited supervision and efficiently meet deadlines. Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations building codes and ADA accessibility. Valid drivers license. Ability to obtain pesticide application license. Skills and Abilities: Dependable flexible and able to react productively to changes in priorities. Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional manner. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment. Ability to maintain accurate records and complete tasks efficiently. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks and work in a variety of environments. Exposure to adverse weather conditions chemicals and various work hazards.Working Conditions: This position requires physical exertion including lifting bending and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions hazardous materials and potential risks associated with maintenance tasks. Must adhere to safety procedures and work in a teamoriented environment.SALARY & CONTRACT: 12 month contract with 10 days of vacation and 13 paid holidays Salary will be based on experience and according to the Maintenance/Custodian salary schedule: $21.74/hr $29.89/hr.
