The Manager Student Life is an administrator within the School of Students. The Manger reports to the Dean of Students and manages various direct reports. The priority and role of the Manager Student Life is to manage student services and support growth in the areas of student; resident housing mental health wellness and recreation and recruitment.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Promote sound studentcentered services delivery.
  • Manage and mentor staff
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and students
  • Recruit supervise and evaluate staff
  • Promote services available within Student Life portfolio
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance student experience
  • Engage students to assess needs and coordinate services
  • Streamline processes through innovation to facilitate ease of accessing Student Life services
  • Identify new Student Life service opportunities
  • Establish Residence Student Life program
  • Responsible for Student Life Budget implementation
  • Collaborate with Business Services Advisor for financial reporting and planning
  • Approve the purchase and allocation of resources
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students and/or duties specific to the area of responsibility.


Requirements

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in a related area a masters degree is preferred. 3 years of directly related experience is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.Necessaryskills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Experience working within with students postsecondary setting is preferred.
  • Leadership and mentorship experience with demonstrated ability to manage a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Zoom and any
  • student information systems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage a large budget.
  • Is creative innovative and takes advantage of opportunities while recognizing the necessity of working
  • within limited resources.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
  • A high level of integrity confidentiality professionalism and accountability.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have a twoyear diploma from the following fields Communication Public Relations Journalism Marketing. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • a high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
