Job Description
Job Title: Senior Database Engineer
Location(s): Ft. Meade MD Hours: Regular FullTime
Clearance Requirements:
This position requires a current and active Top Secret Clearance at the time of application.
Salary Range: $120k/yr. $177k/yr.
What you will be doing:
- Provides daily administration and technical support to operational and lab database platforms and instances.
- Responsible for Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing Oracle database programs and instances.
- Monitors legacy databases and related systems to ensure optimized database performance.
- Responsible for writing new support programs and scripts to increase data storage capacity and reviews database and user reports as well as system information.
- Performs debugging procedures on database scripts and programs as well as resolving conflicts.
- Ensures compliance and adherence to best practices in securely storing backing up and archiving data. Documents processes related to database design configuration and performance
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- Ten 10 Years of experience
- Experience in Oracle Database administration (DBA) required.
- Experience in SQL Database administration (DBA) is desired.
Education:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Two 2 years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree
Certifications:
- IAT II Certification
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
