Job Description

We are seeking a Knowledge Strategy Lawyer (KSL to support the development and implementation of knowledge management (KM) initiatives for assigned transactional practice groups including Banking and Corporate. The KSL will play a key role in identifying knowledge needs improving resource access and deploying innovative technology solutions to enhance workflow efficiency within the practice group.

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge Strategy:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and the KM team to assess and address knowledge needs within the practice group.
  • Develop and implement plans aligned with practice group goals working closely with stakeholders to assess workflows and identify KM solutions.
  • Partner with Innovation & Emerging Technologies and other groups to implement practice improvements.

Knowledge Management & Knowhow Development:

  • Create and maintain model forms practice notes checklists guides market data and other substantive content for the practice group.
  • Organize and verify data accuracy in internal KM systems ensuring adherence to taxonomies and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain practicespecific knowledge repositories keeping them current and relevant.

Thought Leadership:

  • Monitor legal and market developments preparing regular newsletters and updates for the practice groups.
  • Assist with client and firmwide mailings to disseminate key updates.

Practice Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with KM and technology teams to pilot new tools such as AIdriven contract analysis and transaction management tools.
  • Advise attorneys on improved processes and technologies to enhance legal service delivery.

Business Development:

  • Work with practice and business development teams to identify opportunities for new business including participation in client pitches.

Training & Mentorship:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for practice group attorneys including CLE programs and workshops.
  • Mentor associates on best practices and promote use of KM resources.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Solicit feedback from attorneys to prioritize KM and practice innovation needs.
  • Share best practices across practice groups and track adoption of KM resources.
  • Provide regular reports to practice group leadership on KM engagement and outcomes.

Other Duties:

  • Provide additional support to practice groups as needed and participate in special projects aligned with firm goals.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience in Banking or Corporate law at a global law firm.
  • Expertise in Banking required with Corporate experience preferred.
  • Experience with legal technology tools (e.g. Contract Express Neota Logic Kira eBrevia).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to draft publications training materials and other knowhow documents.
  • Knowledge of KM processes technologies and best practices.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fastpaced environment.

  • Creative problemsolving abilities and strong judgment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
