Basic Job Functions:
SUMMARY:
The Sub Assembler is responsible for constructing small assemblies and small parts to be utilized in the manufacturing process for the door orders and directly to the customer via parts orders. To accomplish this Sub Assembler will review the daily production schedule via IPad to determine locate and gather the necessary components and then stage prepare and assemble the subassemblies and small parts.
- Read and follow blueprints and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts in an accurate and timely fashion per the daily production schedule.
- Pull stock components tools and materials.
- Assembles components for subassemblies of door orders and manufactured parts.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the manufactured parts by inspecting and verifying subassembly meets specifications and then transfer to staging area.
- Document actions by confirming completed tasks on IPad.
- Keep area clean and organized.
- Maintain inventory stock levels to meet specifications.
- Resolve assembly issues andnotify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical and electrical assembly background.
- Ability to read and interpret reports work instructions and blueprints.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive and batch processes requiring dexterity and endurance.
- Ability to prioritize workload and to manage more than one task simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Must be able to read and use standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools.
- Must be familiar operating portable power tools such as impact drill and wire cutter.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to lift 25 50 pounds occasionally.
- Squatting kneeling and standing frequently.
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
