The Department of Neurology of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruitinga vascular neurologist for our Comprehensive Stroke Program at Mount Sinai Brooklyn!
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) has one of the busiest stroke programs in the Northeast and is a major tertiary referral center for emergent large vessel occlusions. The Department of Neurology also has a robust clinical research enterprise and is a national leader in investigatorinitiated research and clinical trials including participating as a regional coordinating center in the NIHfunded StrokeNet. In addition to over twenty current stroke and interventional faculty we have a robust neurology residency program and three neurointerventional and four vascular neurology fellows per year.
The candidate selected for this position will be appointed as an Assistant Professor or a higher rank depending on experience. Their primary location will be Mount Sinai Brooklyn with potential for occasional assignments at other hospitals sites within the Mount Sinai Health System. Responsibilities include clinical activities in the Stroke Program including Inpatient Stroke Teaching Service Stroke Consult Service Outpatient Stroke Clinic and the Telestroke Program. Opportunities and support for clinical research interests can be provided.
Mount Sinai Brooklyn a 212bed acutecare community hospital located in Midwood has gone through numerous renovations and upgrades over the past decade to expand its scope of services. The latest advances include a completely redesigned intensive care unit a new 128 slice CT scanner MRI services new digital mammography equipment and a new stateoftheart radiology suite. The hospitals emergency department also serves as a major hub of activity and a critical community resource. The hospital enjoys an excellent reputation in such specialties as cardiac care geriatric care gastroenterology general surgery gynecology and orthopedics.
The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to partner with world renowned faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). The successful candidate for this position will be appointed with the title and salary commensurate with experience. The compensation range for an Assistant Professor is $240000 to $300000 for an Associate Professor is $270000 to $350000 and for a Professor is $300000 to $400000. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Please note that these salaries do not include bonuses incentive compensation or benefits.
