SwingDeva hippo company is the Polish branch of a fastgrowing InsurTech product company Hippo Insurance. Were here to make home insurance smarter and more proactive using tech to bring fresh solutions. About the role:
As the Senior Engineering Manager youll lead a group of talented passionate software engineers. Youll exert technical leadership by investing in their individual growth managing the team operations and participating in their daytoday work. Youll partner closely with multiple Product Managers to craft and maintain a strong vision for our software products evaluating business impact and technical tradeoffs to support two strategic charters New Homes Insurance Core and New Homes CX & Sales.
What will you do
- Lead a team of eight engineers responsible for one of Hippos two strategic charters.
- Mentor both senior and junior engineers fostering their growth for higher impact and effective teamwork.
- Collaborate with talented Product Managers to manage the teams project roadmap ensuring a balance of technical excellence agility and user benefit.
- Influence and collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders within Hippo including Sales Retention UX Design QA Data and Finance.
- Demonstrate technical leadership with a datadriven approach emphasizing excellent and highquality software delivery.
- Coordinate with teams in our global locations across the US and Poland.

- Have experience in designing scalable maintainable systems with a solid architectural understanding.
- Have successfully led one or more teams as a people manager.
- Communicate clearly handle escalations effectively and ensure continuous progress.
- Possess strong problemsolving skills enabling you to troubleshoot issues effectively by asking the right questions and helping the team focus on what truly matters.
- Appreciate Product as a true partner and coowner of software products.
- Maintain a relentless focus on endusers creating customercentric solutions.
- Have a proven ability to build teams develop individuals and influence crossfunctional teams and senior management.
- Are adaptable able to expand your scope of work or transition to new areas of impact within a fastmoving scaleup environment.
- Have a high level of technical proficiency with some of Hippos tech stack including JavaScript/Node.js React and Python.
- Possess strong knowledge of algorithms data structures and systems design.
- Have a great command of English and Polish (both written & spoken).
- Are available in the afternoons we prioritize everyones personal time and worklife fit but since we work in multinational teams occasional evening meetings may be necessary to ensure smooth communication across time zones.
