THE POSITION
Reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Support this specific position serves to enhance the teaching learning and assessing of literacy in order to improve student achievement.
A Bridge Boston Charter School Literacy Interventionist is expected to:
- Provide targeted datadriven literacy instruction to Tier 2 and Tier 3 students
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Academic Support DCIs and lead teachers to identify students in need of targeted literacy interventions
- Deliver literacy interventions using research based strategies and materials
- Regularly progress monitor and assess literacy growth among the targeted students adjusting course as necessary
- Collect share and analyze data in collaboration with relevant stakeholders for each student who is targeted for literacy intervention
- Attend and participate in required MTSS meetings for students who are identified for and receiving literacy interventions
- Collaborate with the ILT and Literacy Task Force on schoolwide professional development initiatives that foster strong literacy development
- Ensure DIBELS Benchmark assessments and biweekly progress monitoring is completed schoolwide
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist with overall school culture and operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of teaching and/or interventionist experience in a similar setting preferred
- Relevant Massachusetts Provisional Initial or Professional teaching certification
- Sheltered English Immersion endorsement
- Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; belief in the value of diversity
- Clear willingness to make and learn from mistakes
