Coordinate and conduct department meetings and professional development daysProven classroom management through active engagement and participation; restorative justice methods preferableCurriculum Development and ImplementationOversee the design evaluation and refinement of a rigorous and engaging Science curriculum for 58th grade boysEnsure integration of diverse texts and materials that reflect a range of perspectives experience and voicesImplement effective instructional strategies that meet the needs of all learners and promote quantitative skillsDevelop and deliver interdisciplinary instructional units in collaboration with peers from other disciplinesTeaching and Learning Teach 3 sections of Science oversee AmeriCorp teaching fellow in one section Incorporate technology and modern teaching methods to enhance the learning experience. Foster a classroom environment that is supportive inclusive and conducive to learning. Assessment and Evaluation Develop and oversee assessment practices that accurately measure student progress and inform instructionUse data to identify trends and address areas for improvement within the programCommunity and Communication Communicate effectively with students parents and staff promoting the Science program and its successes. Collaborate with other department chairs and school administrators to support interdisciplinary initiatives and school events.
