Job Description

Responsibilities:Provide direct explicit and multisensory reading instruction to individual students and small groups utilizing evidencebased strategies and interventions.Assess students reading skills and progress regularly using a variety of formal and informal assessments to inform instruction and monitor IEP goals.Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.Collaborate effectively with general education teachers special education colleagues parents/guardians and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student progress IEPs and communication with parents/guardians.Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development review and implementation of student IEPs.Stay current on best practices and research in special education and reading instruction.Create a positive supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and confidence.Manage student behavior effectively in the classroom setting.Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Special Education Director.
