The Opportunity:
The Fusion Center Crime Analyst will be responsible for collecting evaluating analyzing and producing intelligence on crime trends and threats to Florida through the application of extensive analytical research and interpretive skills the use of numerous investigative intelligence and informational sources/databases and engagement with inter agency fusion liaisons.
Responsibilities:
Researches and collects information intelligence reports and investigative reports to identify trends threats vulnerabilities tactics and techniques with potential impact to Florida.
Reviews evaluates and analyzes current investigative and intelligence data current events publications and online postings related to criminal activity crime trends and the impact of specific crime within the area.
Prepares analytical briefs assessments and other products based on experience and analysis both independently and as part of a group.
Presents analytical findings via charts graphics written documents and oral briefings.
Hypotheses based on collected data and analytical and professional judgement.
Identifies gaps in information and proposes recommendations.
Establishes and maintains liaison with and initiates and/or coordinates interagency contacts among FDLE entities and/or other law enforcement agencies in matters pertaining to the acquisition and research of public and law enforcement records as well as the sharing of information and intelligence in support of the Intelligence Exchanges mission.
Responds to requests for information from other law enforcement agencies.
Assesses source and information reliability and validity.
Attends and/or supports upon request various intelligence unit meetings in conjunction with other federal state and local law enforcement units.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience as a crime or intelligence analyst or similar role within the law enforcement field.
Successful completion of the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) and credited as aFloridaCertified Law Enforcement Analyst or a commitment to complete the certification within 9 months of hire (tuition covered).
Proficient in data research and analytics with the ability to generate detailed actionable reports.
Indepth knowledge of current popular social media platforms and trends.
Expertise in public speaking including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to varied audiences at all levels.
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively within a teamoriented environment.
Bachelors degree in criminal justice criminology psychology analysis strategies or associated area preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and engagement with the public.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities to completion.
Ability to perform under pressure and maintain efficiency in highstress environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20.29 to $24.86. The final hourly rate will be determined based on the candidates qualifications experience and internal equity considerations.
