Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Network Systems Engineer that will lead a team that supports the requirements design development test integration and troubleshooting of complex specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating voice video and data capability across multiple security domains.
- Designs and maintains networks (both LAN & WAN) connecting airborne and ground systems via terrestrial and BLOS (Beyond Line of Sight) circuits.
- Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
- Perform requirement traceability methods and purpose.
- Perform systems engineering trade studies.
- Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
- Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design.
- Review and evaluate diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
- Develop and execute network test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical network information to nontechnical professionals.
- Lead a team with multiple disciplines of engineering to design a cohesive creditable multiple security domain network and integrate the resulting design in a MILSTD based development environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TopSecret clearance with SCI.
- Expert knowledge and experience in network (LAN/WAN) design incorporating industry standard security best practices; NIST framework.
- Network engineering including IP addressing switching and routing VLANs VPNs video teleconferencing VoIP telephony and LANs/WANs.
- Expert in routing protocols including RIP EGIRP OSPF and BGP.
- Certification and Accreditation process and implementation of systems that achieved an Authorization to Operate on government networks.
- DODAF knowledge.
- Configuration integration and troubleshooting of routers switches voice and video teleconferencing equipment.
- Excellent written oral and presentation communication skills
- Developing authoring and implementing software and system test plans in a team environment.
- Working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead small test teams through an entire build cycle.
- Handson experience with testing integrating and verifying software and/or hardware.
- Working government and/or military programs.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10 (Internationally and domestically).
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with nine 9 years of network (LAN/WAN) design incorporating industry standard security best practices; NIST Framework experience.
- Graduate Degree with seven 7 years of network (LAN/WAN) design incorporating industry standard security best practices; NIST Framework experience.
- In lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of network (LAN/WAN) design incorporating industry standard security best practices; NIST Framework experience.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- Kubernetes deployment/administration.
- SATCOM solutions/protocols.
- HAIPE devices.
- RedHat Enterprise: Linux.
- Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
- Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and implementation of systems that achieved an Authorization to Operate (ATO) on government networks DODAF knowledge.
