Job Description

Job Description: Library Assistant Makerspace

Job Description: PartTime up to 15 hours/week

Hours: Saturday 15pm; Monday 37pm; TBD based on new hire availability


CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides proactive service to users of the Makerspace.

2. Assists patrons of all ages in using tools equipment material and software in the Makerspace; offers patrons oneonone instruction and training on Makerspace resources including 3D printers laser cutters vinyl cutting sewing and sound booth technologies.

3. Develops and maintains product knowledge regarding tools equipment materials and software for specific projects in order to meet the needs of patrons in the Makerspace.

4. Responsible for keeping the Makerspace and the equipment in clean safe and working order.

5. Works within the makerspace booking system and responds to inquiries via email.

6. Perform regular testing and troubleshooting to correct issues including but not limited to equipment failure and contamination.

7. Calibrate and maintain equipment and instruments in accordance with prescribed requirements.

8. Perform minor equipment repairs and arrange for major repairs through a supervisor.

9. Responsible for the proper storage of materials and the appropriate disposal of waste in accordance with established policies and procedures.
