Compassionate Care Aide (CCA)

Duties & Responsibilities

Compassionate Care Aides will be connected with seniors within the Algoma District who may be lonely isolated and in need of quality interactions. In this position CCAs will take directions from Superior Staff it with the requirements of the clients in mind. The specific responsibilities and duties vary slightly between homes as well as from shift to shift. Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Household cleaning (wiping surfaces dishes cleaning floors laundry making beds etc.
  • Organizing.
  • Visiting with residents.
  • Reading and conversing.
  • Playing games (board games puzzles cards etc..
  • Walking.
  • Gardening.
  • Letter writing.
  • Crafting (making new crafts putting together photo albums etc..
  • Watching TV or movies.


Required Skills

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Hardworking compassionate positive and professional.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and remain flexible.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to comply with standard policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in caring for the aging population is considered an asset.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Proof of full COVID19 vaccination (preferred).
  • Must have access to own transportation.
  • A valid drivers license access to own vehicle and possessing own car insurance are considered an asset.


Salary:$17.20/hr

Schedule

  • Casual parttime fulltime opportunities
