TITLE: INTERNAL AUDITOR

RATE OF PAY: $26.00 $30.75/ PER HOUR

INTRODUCTION:
The Internal Auditor will responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of audit processes procedures and methodologies developing and monitoring customized audit program planning and performing operational audits that apply to gaming with all Spokane Tribal Gaming Facilities to ensure compliance with all regulations adopted by the Spokane Tribe of Indians Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission and any Tribal/State compact and or federal laws that pertain to gaming that are applicable.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and execute scheduled audits including planning preparation reporting and followup in accordance with accepted professional
- Assist in developing audit scopes including assigning internal controls and risk areas
- Perform various aspects of of riskbased operational audits
- Document all information pertaining to audit results including findings opportunities and observations
- Follow up with management on remedial action
- Prepare Audit and Executive Summary reports
- Promote value and recommendations including efficiency and costsavings opportunities
- Evaluate the overall efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls and risk areas in compliance with applicable process standards
- Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as ability to use appropriate judgment and discretion
- Assist with implementing audit tools to improve audit efficiencies
- Coordinate and conduct special audits investigations and/or adhoc projects with minimal supervision and direction
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform special inspections as circumstances warrant.
- May assist other departments of the gaming enforcement division.
- Ability to preserve the confidentiality of all information and material either generated or obtained while conducting inspections and performing all other job responsibilities. Must uphold the strictest confidentiality.
- Ability to learn understand and apply the regulations as set forth by the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Maintain positive peer relationships and provide assistance in a professional manner.
- Willingness to travel to attend training as directed by supervisor or Gaming Enforcement Division Director.

- Strong computer skills; Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel Power Point Outlook
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Level I
- High School Diploma and Two 2 years of experience in auditing accounting financial analysis information systems Tribal Gaming or related fields OR Associates degree (A.A. or equivalent from twoyear college or technical school and One 1 year of experience in auditing accounting financial analysis information systems or related fields.
Level II
- Bachelors degree (B.A. and two 2 years of experience in auditing accounting financial analysis information systems or related fields.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License and shall be required to submit driving abstract prior to employment and on a quarterly basis as determined by Commission Enforcement Division Director or Supervisor at his/her expense.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and maintain eligibility requirements
