Job Description

Job Title: Specialist Quality Engineer

Job Code: 22357

Job Location: Clifton NJ

Job Description:

Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer will review modify apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished hardware on highly complex electronic & mechanical spaceflight assemblies.Works independently. Proven ability to drive FRB/MRB activities to closure. Ability to generate relevant metrics and present them to internal and external customers. Responsible for providing guidance coaching and training to other employees. Responsible for managing complex projects at this level involving delegation of work and review of work products.

Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g. customers vendors etc. when necessary. Responsible for continuous improvement focus and ZDP . Will execute with Program Management IPTs and Quality Leadership to report status and process improvements. Partners with other functions to achieve efficient resolution of issues without compromise to quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies
  • Review analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly process mechanical electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Performs other Quality Engineering tasks as assigned to support the Quality Management System of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree inwith a minimum of 4 years experience in supporting design development manufacturing and/or quality engineering activities OR Masters Degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in supporting design development manufacturing and/or quality engineering activities
  • Security Clearance required for role: Secret

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to focus prioritize and multitask successfully to drive projects to closure
  • Ability to perform trend analysis
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience
  • Interactive skills strong written and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include the use of MS Office Professional Suite and the ability to quickly learn systems and software required to perform job duties.
  • Strong organizational skills
