Job Description
Structural Engineer : Kendal Cumbria
MacArthur Recruitment are seeking a qualified and experienced Structural Engineer to work with a successful company who have offices in the Kendal / South Lakes area near good motorway connections. This is a varied role working on large and small projects as well as on existing structures.
This company have a great track record in staff development progress and retention.
Main responsibilities for the role of Structural Engineer:
Production of schematic/ concept designs and structural design calculations
Working with other construction professionals in the development of designs
Undertaking structural designs using CSC Building Designer or RAM
Directing technicians (ideally) in the production of AutoCAD and REVIT drawing information
Developing relationships with clients and other professionals
General structural surveys and reports letters and general correspondence.
Diagnosis of structural defects and the development of appropriate repair strategies.
Other aspects of the role of Structural Engineer :
Responsible for the analysis and design of building structures progressing to overall design of structures.
Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD software.
Visiting sites and attending site meetings
Involvement in internal project design meetings.
Attend external design meetings with clients and other design team members.
Prepare correspondence and reports.
Variety of projects from small scale to multimillion across the county (Cumbria / North Lancashire)
Your experience for the role of Structural Engineer :
Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
Working towards MIStructE / MICE / AMIStructE / AMICE or equivalent
IT literate with experience of structural design software packages.
Valid driving licence
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues clients and prospective clients
