Job Description
Veterinary Surgeon
Job Classification: Full Time
Location: Scarborough ON
Salary: $250000
VCA Toronto Veterinary Referral and Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is a large multispecialty referral and emergency hospital located in Toronto Ontario. We provide specialty services in surgery internal medicine critical care diagnostic imaging neurology cardiology and rehabilitation. Our 16000 sq.ft. facility is home to 5 operating theatres supported by a large ICU staffed 365 days a year by boardcertified critical care specialists.
Our critical care facility provides expertise in complex case management and ventilatory support with a state of the art Drager mechanical ventilator. Our surgical equipment inventory includes inhouse CT and MRI arthroscopic and laparoscopic equipment a full complement of general soft tissue orthopedic and neurosurgical equipment and a mobile Carm.
VCA TVEH offers an open and cooperative hospital and includes staff in its operational decision making. Our doctors work as a collaborative team and not as separate departments which we believe is how we are able to provide world class patient care and client service.
Qualifications:
Completed a small animal surgery residency
Board Certified Small Animal Surgeon
Perform surgeries based on specific case requirements
Complete medical records as per protocol
Treatment plans pre and post operative care
Adaptable to work within a team environment that is often under pressure when treating sick or injured small companion animals
Demonstrated leadership ability to train and mentor junior staff
Exceptional interpersonal skills with staff specialists and pet parents
