Job Description

Conducts psychological evaluations on indistrict and outofdistrict students as needed Provides counseling services as required by students Individual Education ProgramsFacilitates building based IEP meetingsActs as a consultant to staff and parents regarding student learning concerns; and assists in team planning and screening efforts within assigned buildingsSupports district wide special education programs by providing ongoing consultation to all Special Education programming within assigned schools. Possesses knowledge of federal state and local laws regulation and policies regarding childrens special education eligibility and programming.Demonstrate knowledge in subject area of Psychological Assessment IDEA and Chapter 766 and Section 504 regulationsGuide the learning process toward the achievement of district and school curriculum goalsPlan instruction based upon explicit goals regarding what students should know and be able to doCreate or provide learning experiences that develop students abilities and require the application of thinking skillsConduct classroom observations and individual psychological evaluations and consults with appropriate professionals regarding implications and results.Provide direct support to students in a classroom by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of models and strategies. Collect and analyze data to develop and implement programs Employ a variety of instructional strategies that consider individual learning styles and performance levelsEnsure appropriate accommodations to the curriculum lessons and learning environment. Design activities and lessons with multiple levels so that all students both meet their IEP goals and can access the curriculum. Formally and informally assess the student learning to create a comprehensive learning program. Set high expectations that are suitable based on students needs.Family and Community EngagementBuild a partnership with families encouraging their active participation in students learning. Communicate student progress and development to parents/guardiansConsults with private and/or public practitioners regarding student progress and/or needsConsults and/or counsels with students school staff and parents regarding academic and/or personal/social needs; provides information regarding community services available to students; makes appropriate referrals regarding vocational needs of studentsProfessional CultureConduct testing and write thorough reports for initial and three year evaluations including cognitive behavioral social emotional and projective testing.Maintains accurate records of all psychological services provided.Completes clearly written and comprehensive reports which provide practical recommendations.Submits all required paperwork within a timely manner adhering to all federal state and local laws and policies.Work collaboratively with general education teachers gradelevel teams and other staff to plan share student work and ensure that instruction is aligned with identified curriculum and standards. Carry out the schools disciplinary code and procedures in a fair and just mannerParticipate in IEP and 504 meetings as requiredModel learning and behavior consistent with the expectations for studentsAttend staff team and department meetings as well as serve on staff committees as necessaryCollaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instructional effectiveness for all studentsComplete required Medicaid documentation according to state regulations for services provided.
