Senior Principal DevOps Engineer Mission Systems (Onsite)

**This position can be worked onsite in either Cedar Rapids IA OR our Richardson TX facilities.

Job Overview:

This role will focus on assisting programs in adopting best practices in DevOps guiding teams through their automation journeys and promoting the use of modern tools and methodologies. The focus will be adoption of Enterprise tools and implementation of modern patterns and practices. The ideal candidate will excel in developing highquality deliverables nurturing client relationships and fostering team growth.

This includes collaborating with crossfunctional teams (Digital Technologies Software to create and maintain shared codebases encouraging team members to contribute their expertise and facilitating knowledge sharing between departments. By championing Inner Source practices the consultant will help foster a collaborative environment that enhances code quality accelerates innovation and drives overall team productivity.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure that project engagements deliver the intended value to the business and program.

• Design and partner on complex missioncritical transformations with the software and DevOps engineers.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships driving business growth while identifying opportunities for collaboration and adoption of other enterprise services.

• Develop highquality deliverables and presentations for client engineering teams and senior leaders which include both technical and nontechnical documentation.

• Collaborate with programs to understand their requirements and technical challenges; develop tailored solutions to address their unique needs.

• Create and present solution designs options ideas and innovative strategies to clients senior leadership teams.

• As part of solutions conduct value stream mapping to identify areas of greatest impact.

• Develop and conduct paired implementation of software development build test release and deployment pipelines using industry standard patterns and practices (CI/CD GitOps TDD etc.

• Establish project estimates and plans identify risks and mitigations and drive the delivery of technical solutions.

• Provide mentorship coaching and professional development opportunities to program team members empowering them to grow and excel in their roles.

• Actively lead collaboration within our technical communities fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree 14 years of relevant experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Strong knowledge and handson experience with CI/CD practices and tools.

• Proficiency in GitLab and other version control systems.

• Background in software development with an understanding of coding principles.

• Experience with test automation methodologies and tools.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code IaC practices and tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible).

• Proven ability to engage with the clients senior leadership and articulate technical solutions in an understandable manner.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create comprehensive documentation and presentations.

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.

• Experience performing value stream mapping or CORE process mapping for a complex software project

• Experience as a lead consultant partnering with clients to deliver outcome driven solutions.
