Position Summary
A SIGN ON BONUS OF $4668 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT OF THIS POSITION PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF HIRE : $2334 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE & $2334 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE . Performs plumbing repairs installation and preventive maintenance per applicable codes and standards. Informs the supervisor and/or lead mechanic of any problems and provides updates on the status of work in progress. Assists with area coverage to ensure that work orders maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) requests are completed. As this position works in areas occupied by students particular care must be taken to address residents needs while ensuring residents privacy and respect for their personal property.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience in plumbing demonstrated working knowledge of the methods practices tools and materials used in commercial plumbing maintenance and repair. Ability to plan problemsolve and work safely. Ability to demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills with coworkers and Housing staff. Ability to serve as a mandatory employee and report to work in support of essential University operations even when adverse weather or other emergency conditions including but not limited to a public health emergency may require the University to close. Valid North Carolina Drivers License or ability to obtain one prior to start date. Crossconnect certification or ability to obtain one in first six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Progressive experience in industrial and commercial plumbing. Experience in the installation maintenance and repair of campus facilities is also preferred.
Work Schedule
Four days per week 8:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m.
