Payment Terms:3045 days from the receipt of the invoice; additional 1 hour paid for transport reimbursement
Scope of Work:
This position is responsible for facilitating communication between users of English (spoken and/or written) and users of sign language including American Sign Language (ASL) and Englishbased sign systems. Interpreters provide individuals who are deaf hard of hearing or deafblind with appropriate access to classroom instruction and communication with all school staff and students. Additionally interpreters assist individuals in learning to use an interpreter developing selfadvocacy skills and fostering independence across all settings as appropriate.
Additional Information:
Interpreting can be onsite or via Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Interpreters preferably should be based in Columbia South Carolina. Currently the position is for backup of current interpreters with a target for fulltime availability in the future.
