Job Description
Join us as a Senior Chassis Suspension Design Release Engineer where youll shape the future of autonomous mobility. Using CATIA V6 youll design and release chassis components for active suspension collaborating with tierone suppliers to meet cost weight timing and performance targets. Youll develop mechatronic units hydraulic pumps valves accumulators and controllers while working closely with electrical and software teams. Youll also drive engineering milestones validation plans FMEAs and PLM releases ensuring seamless vehicle integration and testing. In this role you will:
- You will design in CATIA V6 prototype hardware and electromechanical systems
- You will generate 2D drawing packages for fabrication and assembly
- You will evaluate the static dynamic structural and thermalmechanical performances of mechanical assemblies
- You will collaborate with suppliers to manage designs and design documents and execute engineering disciplines and component deliveries
- You will track and execute design validation plans review and develop FMEAs and prepare design review documentation
- You will collaborate with different Zoox teams for the manufacturing assembly and bring up of the robots
Qualifications
- BS in mechanical engineering with 5 years of experience in vehicle engineering chassis systems design and component delivery
- Understanding of hydraulic systems electrical systems and system architecture
- Experienced in testing and vehicle development
- Knowledge of automotive program development/release process and longterm schedule planning
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 or V6 CAD software
Bonus Qualifications
- Advanced degrees MS or Ph.D. degree is a plus
- CAN & Network skills
- Experience at automotive OEM or significant Tier 1
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $141000 to $229000. A signon bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
