L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. As part of the RC135 based Airseeker/Rivet Joint programme we deliver strategic and tactical intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capability. We provide comprehensive carriage release and interfacing solutions to integrate weapons and stores onto crewed and uncrewed air platforms.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Preparation and assembly of test rigs and fixtures
  • Fitment and verification of test measurement instrumentation
  • Operation of dedicated test facilities to conduct product development and production acceptance tests to defined test procedures including:
    Weapon Release / Climatic / Pressure / Structural / Vibration
  • Liaison with test engineering design and manufacturing departments
  • Recording of test results and product handling using logbook system
  • Understanding and consideration of safety in the workplace at all times

What youll bring

The role requires the following experience and skills:

  • Relevant college qualification or suitable apprenticeship with experience of practical skills
  • Understanding of the principles of testing
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical assembly
  • Proven practical skills and use of hand tools
  • Methods of assembly and selection of fixings
  • Understanding of technical drawings
  • Ability to consistently follow operational instructions
  • Ability to learn product knowledge and apply troubleshooting through critical thinking

Important to know

Due to the nature of our work many our roles require a UK nationality and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment must meet the requirement of right to work in the UK and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to government security checks.
