Job Description
Extended School Year (ESY) Teachers
- 810 K12 teachers
- substitutes as needed.
Description and Details:
Program provides instruction to students to maintain identified maintenance of reading writing math and social skill IEP specific goals for students K12.
Program runs June 30July 31 every Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM12:00PM for students and 8:15AM12:15PM for staff. Participation in preprogram training and postprogram training is required. Noncontractual. Compensation will be$36.00 per hour through June 30 2025 and moves to $36.50 per hour beginning July 1 2025 per the PGEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications:
- Preferred PA Special Education Elementary/Secondary Certification and current clearances.
- PA Certification in Elementary/Secondary or Early Childhood Certification Special Education and current clearances.
Duties:
- Deliver with fidelity and teach instructional services to students as per their prescribed IEP needs
- Complete ongoing weekly progress monitoring data toward IEP goals and share out a final progress summary report to all families at the end of ESY.
- Communicate daily with families regarding learning activities and students progress.
- Implement student positive behavior support plans.
- Complete end of ESY report of maintenance sheets that will be shared with families and teachers for the coming school year.
- Planlessons and deliver instruction to students as identified in students IEP.
- Collaborate with related service and para professionals assigned to support students.
- Support the adaptive/functional and self care needs of students including toileting support where needed.
- Participate in any training to support student needs.
Program Information:
Teacher setup days and hours: 6 hours prior to ESY start date
Teacher closeup days and hours: 6 hours post ESY end date
