Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Oversees the operation of the department and guides its success by creating an environment sufficient in resources training system integration leadership and supervision for its work force. Coordinates and supports patient care services to patients in a fiscally effective manner. Plans markets and manages the functions of the Section. Ensures operations are consistent with Nationwide Childrens Hospitals mission goals and objectives. Guides the development and of Strategic Plan.
Essential Functions:- Plans and administers directly or through subordinate supervisory personnel the effective management and delivery of quality patient care for assigned programs/areas.
- Hires orients oversees training and development schedules assigns work to evaluates disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel.
- Develops approves and monitors staffing capital and operating budgets in cooperation with appropriate Managers physicians supervisors coordinators or lead clinicians.
- Participates in developing goals and objectives and in designing and implementing appropriate plans to meet agreed upon goals and long range planning Section.
- Develops and implements marketing plans for programs/areas of responsibility in conjunction with hospital staff.
- Participates in developing department policies and procedures and ensures subordinate personnel effectively administer approved policies and procedures.
- Promotes continuous improvement by developing and revising standards implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies ensuring adherence to continuous performance improvement and ensuring compliance with the Corporate Integrity Program.
- Serves as a resource to assigned staff in resolving clinical and/or management problems and concerns.
- Seeks ways for Section to operate more effectively by expediting and facilitating crossfunctional actions and by implementing ways to enhance decision making and communication.
- Participates on a variety of committees to achieve coordinated care for services with other departments.
- Develops and maintains a variety of external contacts including educational affiliates and so forth.
- Keeps abreast of developments and trends in areas of responsibility.
- Plans for future programs and facilities.
- Develops and maintains relationships as appropriate with other community agencies providing pediatric health services.
- Collaborates with physician leaders for specialty services to insure quality of care service standards and program growth.
- Develops and/or monitors usage of charge codes for Section. Recommends charge levels consistent with competitive market conditions. Works closely with Financial Services to ensure accurate coding of services provided and provides comparative analysis for charge activity.
