The Associate Researcher will be responsible for research projects regarding the STICU Trauma Service and General Surgery. It will be the duty of the researcher to maintain all trauma research efforts research assistants and generate grant proposals to fund traumarelated research endeavors
1. Develop IRB and submit proposals within specified deadlines.
2. Schedule regular meetings to monitor the progress of the research projects.
3. Review ideas and develop with new research projects and proposals.
4. Review grants possibilities; and prepare grant proposals.
5. Generate statistical inputs to assess data and power the identified research projects.
6. Coordinate participation of residents/students/attending on the research projects.
7. Provide input as to study design and analysis.
8. Supervise and manage the Research Assistants and other itinerant staff needed for research projects including but not limited to performance management.
10. Assist in organizing and writing manuscripts.
11. Maintain databases for ongoing research projects.
12. Present ongoing projects and updates at biweekly research meetings.
13. Assist in coordinating and communicating with other programs for multiinstitutional studies.
14. Other duties as needed.
Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel Outlook) proficiency required. Use of STATA or equivalent required.
Masters degree in Public Health (MPH).
Minimum 2 years of experience in a research role including statistical analysis (STATA) study design and study coordination. Experience managing staff and demonstrated experience in writing grant proposals preferred.
Board Certification in Public Health preferred.
General skills required: Oral and written communication skills presentation skills project management skills and supervisory management skills.
